COVE Ocean
As a world-leading innovation centre and global marine tech hub, COVE Ocean (“COVE”) has expanded its workspace in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, to better support its growing team. Completed in November 2024, this strategic expansion in the heart of Queen’s Square provides dedicated spaces for key departments such as Human Resources, Finance, and Marketing, while also creating a welcoming environment for visitors and partners.
The Collective collaborated with D360 Inc. and Bruno Builders to furnish a range of formal and informal spaces, including 6 office spaces, 4 touchdown areas, 3 meeting rooms, 3 collaborative spaces, a wellness room, and a breakout area. Teknion served as the primary furniture provider, supplying 30 workstations, private offices, lockers, and wall systems. Additionally, The Collective curated a diverse selection of ancillary furniture from reputable brands including Allseating, Blu Dot, Gus Modern, Keilhauer, Nienkamper, Studio TK, and Tusch Seating.
Custom design elements played a significant role in the project’s success. Notable features include Teknion-exclusive laminate finish on a Neinkamper meeting room table and custom laminate planter boxes installed above the locker systems, incorporating a biophilic touch throughout the space.
The resulting interiors are bright and airy, with natural wood tones adding warmth throughout. This space not only reflects COVE’s commitment to internal growth and collaboration but also reinforces its role as a hub for marine innovation.
