Bio:
Jeff started in the contract furniture industry in 1978 and spent his first nine years as a sales executive for KBM Office Furniture. In 1987, Jeff started Business Furniture Solutions with the vision of creating a customer-first contract furniture powerhouse. His business quickly grew and sourced four of the top eight furniture manufacturers to give clients multiple options to better serve their requirements.In 1995, Business Furniture Solutions became the first contract furniture company to go public onthe NASDAQ. In 2000, the company wasbriefly sold to a private equity firm. In 2003, Jeff purchased the furniture group back so that he could refocus the company’s mission as a customer centric mid-sized organization. His business, now known as The Collective, runs with the highest level of service with the most experienced, dedicated people in the industry.

What do you do outside of work:
I’m an avid Warriors and Giants fan and support our local teams frequently.

Nick Tuttle - The Collective, President

Bio:
As President, Nick heads the US senior leadership team and is responsible for the Strategic direction of The Collective. Nick has worked in the commercial furniture industry since his high school years as an installer during the summer. He also spent time working for Teknion gaining a perspective of the manufacturing process. Nick brings a diverse level of experience to The Collective. As president Nick is responsible for the strategic direction of the company, building lasting relationships in the community and ensuring the team continues to deliver the best furniture experience to its clients.

Something people don’t know about you:
I played a season of Semi pro Basketball in Rome Italy. 

Tim Thomas - The Collective, CFO

Bio:
As the Global CFO for The Collective, Tim is responsible for financial operations including treasury, planning, legal, audit, tax, productivity and the corporate administration functions in an overall effort to advance the company’s mission and objectives and encourage growth in our global company. He has been in the industry since 1998 and leads The Collective by providing and encouraging thought leadership, industry expertise, innovation and defining the company’s strategic goals.

Something people don’t know about you:
I was a head chef in an Italian restaurant.

Bio:
Frank joined The Collective in August 2015 after 25 years owning and operating a successful manufacturer’s representative firm. At The Collective, Frank applies his experience in value added sales and team leadership.  In addition to working with the customer through all phases of business development, he is the executive sponsor who will make sure the necessary resources are allocated to ensure project success.

Favorite piece furniture:
Teknion Cityline; a beautiful line of furniture that successfully combines the density of benching with the privacy and storage options of cubes with great looking cost effective finish details. Perfectly applicable in the modern office environment.

April Andre - The Collective, Vice President

Bio:
April Andre joined The Collective in May 2015 when she sold her dealership Cre8Workplace Environments to merge with The Collective. She brings over 20 years of experience in the commercial furniture industry. As Regional Vice President, April oversees the Sacramento office location. April’s background includes owning and operating a prospering commercial furniture dealership as well as extensive experience in successful sales, management, marketing strategy, brand building & development. She strives to build long lasting partnerships and will make sure the necessary resources are allocated to ensure project success. Some of her clients include; Cushman & Wakefield, City of Roseville, SMUD, Blue Diamond Growers, Siemens Mobility, and SBM Management Services. April lives in Sacramento with her husband Robert and their two sons, Jack and Grant.

What do you do outside of work:
I love to walk my dogs and watch my boys play basketball.

Kara Klein - The Collective, Director of Operations

Bio:

Kara is director of operations at The Collective and is responsible for the day to day operations of all project managers and account managers. She has a very strong passion for organization and the details of each account. Kara has worked in the engineer, design, construction, and furniture industry for over 10 years.

Kara has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Oregon State University. Before coming to The Collective, Kara worked as a Civil Engineer and a Project Manager at some of the top ranked construction and engineering companies in the country. This included being a part of the construction team for LAX Tom Bradley International Terminal, VMware campus in Palo Alto, and Macy’s in Walnut Creek.

Something people don’t know about you:
Kara was a cheerleader at Oregon State all through college

Ashley Cardenas - The Collective, Design Manager

Bio:
After joining The Collective in March of 2012, Ashley has led the design team as the Design Manager. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design from San Jose State University and has used her passion and love for design to help many of The Collective’s largest accounts reach their furniture/design goals.

As the Design Manager, Ashley is responsible for the day to day needs of the The Collective design team and helps to ensure that the design intent is met and complete on all projects. Ashley works closely with all members of the project team to make certain that the programming, space planning, finish palettes, and full specification of the system furniture are accomplished. With client’s ever changing environments and furniture needs, Ashley is driven to create new design tactics and strategies to ensure that every project is a success.

What do you do outside of work:
Ashley loves spending time with her English Bulldog Bowser and attending car events
